"The age of artificial intelligence has dawned," proclaims Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, referring to his billion-dollar investment in the company OpenAI and its revolutionary applications such as ChatGPT. Reason for us at //next to point to an exciting interview on YouTube with AI researcher Prof. Sebastian Thrun, who has decisively advanced and shaped the global development of AI and robotics. The half-hour interview (in German) covers existing AI applications such as self-driving cars, diagnostic apps and air cabs - as well as where the AI journey is headed in the near and medium term.

Prof. Sebastian Thrun, head of the Artificial Intelligence Lab at Stanford University in California, worked at Google for a long time and has decisively advanced and shaped the global development of AI and robotics. He is a pioneer in the development of the self-driving car. He is named one of the five "most globally influential thinkers" by the U.S. magazine Foreign Policy, and in the fall of 2022 he was awarded the "Thought Leader Award".
