Mario Krause, CIO of ERGO Germany, talked to Wolfgang Herrmann from CIO Magazine. In the interview, which is really worth reading, he talks about the “hybrid customer” business model and the challenges it poses for IT, the modernisation of life insurance systems, IT governance in a complex corporate structure and agile methods and new-work concepts.
With agile methods, many things work differently than in traditional structures, explains Mario Krause in CIO Magazin. This applies, for example, to the budgeting of IT projects, for which there are numerous regulations and specifications, especially in an insurance company. Nevertheless, the path of agile transformation is indispensable for ERGO. Krause: “In the end, it's about speed and flexibility. Without agile methods, we could never pick up the necessary speed.”
