ERGO is the insurance partner for NIO's subscription model and thus for the central sales channel of this Chinese electric car pioneer in Germany. ERGO's liability and comprehensive cover is already included in the monthly fees. During a test drive, our colleagues Karsten Crede (left) and Simon Meyering talked about what developments in the automotive industry mean for insurance companies - and what functions Karsten Crede, Head of ERGO Mobility Solutions, would like to see in his future car.
The start-up NIO was founded in Shanghai in 2014. Its design and brand development centre is located in Munich, which is also home to the "Mobility Technology Center (MTC)" founded by ERGO and partners. The cooperation between ERGO and NIO also includes an agreement to research further innovative insurance solutions for NIO vehicles in the future - for example in the context of autonomous driving or battery technology.
