Digital Demo Day and Digital Lab Awards

The week was all about innovation and start-up cooperation: The Digital Lab Awards were celebrated the Factory Berlin and the Digital Demo Day took place in Düsseldorf. ERGO was part of these events. Some impressions.

The latest event of the Innovation Community took place at the ERGO Innovation Lab in Berlin on Wednesday evening. At this event, Capital Magazine and the research institute Infront presented their study “Konzerne auf den Spuren von Start-ups 2022” (Corporations on the trail of start-ups 2022), at which the best Innovation Labs, Venture Builders and Start-up Programmes were honoured with the “Digital Lab Awards”. ERGO took two places on the podium: second place in the Start-up Programme category and third place in the Innovation Labs category. “This Berlin visit was particularly fun,” wrote ERGO CDO Mark Klein afterwards on his LinkedIn channel. ERGO is currently working in more than 60 start-up cooperations.

Some of these start-ups were met by Mark Klein and Gregor Wiest, Head of Digital Transformation, on Thursday at the Digital Demo Day at Areal Böhler in Düsseldorf: ERGO presented itself at a joint exhibition stand with its partners tech11, Air Doctor, Celonis, Talespin and Arthur. The cooperation partners had arrived from Berlin, Munich and Tel Aviv. Not only were numerous ERGO colleagues visiting the stand, but also an incredible number of tech start-up founders, investors, customers looking for solutions and students. The stand with the bright four red letters was very busy throughout the day. And above all: several follow-up meetings were arranged.

The Digital Demo Day is the largest start-up fair and conference for technology start-ups. This year's topics therefore included the Metaverse, VR/AR, Digital Twins, Web3, NFTs, cryptocurrency or Deep Tech and AI. Mark Klein took part in an exciting panel discussion on “Hightech NRW – From an industrial to a high-tech land” on the main stage. Together with Tobias Bartz, CEO of Rhenus Logistics, Ilse Henne, CTO of ThyssenKrupp AG and Klaus-Dieter Maubach, CEO of Uniper, he answered questions from moderator Charlotte Haunhorst, Head of Digital at Handelsblatt Media Group, about NRW as a location for innovation, start-up cooperation, the use of new technologies in one's own company and sustainability.

By the way: Alice Martin from the start-up Dermanostic, who visited ERGOs digital.morning just a few days ago, was also an exhibitor at the Digital Demo Day. On LinkedIn there is a short video about this.
