Attention football fans! You can now collect digital NFT stickers of the German men's football national team on the online platform "www.sammeldeinteam.de". We have already explained what NFTs are here on //next. With this innovative technology, fans now have the opportunity to digitally increase their anticipation for the tournament by collecting their favourite players in the form of digital collectibles - in addition to traditional collectibles.
While traditionally autographs, jerseys and trading cards have captured the hearts of sports fans, digital collectibles such as video moments and collectibles have seen a considerable surge in popularity in recent years. The German Football Association (DFB) has now awarded Axel Springer the licence for digital NFT collectibles of the men's national team up to and including the 2024 European Championship in Germany.
The virtual products will be advertised and sold primarily via the BILD Group, transfermarkt.de and TorAlarm. Clustered into different rarity levels, fans can purchase the trading cards in different packs and sizes. In addition, there is a freemium strategy that enables fans to obtain the digital collectibles free of charge via other Axel Springer partner companies and, in the future, via the DFB.
